Paul LaJeunesse Scouts West End for New Duluth Mural

Paul-LaJeunesse

As reported by Perfect Duluth Day, Paul LaJeunesse is currently scouting locations for his next mural in Duluth’s West End neighborhood. The project is part of his residency with the Duluth Art Institute, where he is creating a public artwork that captures the character and history of the area.

LaJeunesse, a College of St. Scholastica art professor, is known for his immersive, place-based murals that blend local imagery and community narratives. His work often focuses on the connections between people and their environments, reflecting the stories that define a place.

“This project is about more than just painting walls – it’s about creating a sense of place and identity for the community,” LaJeunesse said. “Art can transform neighborhoods, turning underutilized spaces into cultural assets.”

The mural will be part of a broader effort to revitalize Duluth’s West End, transforming it into a creative hub where local stories and artistic expression come to life. As LaJeunesse continues to scout potential sites, the community can look forward to a new public artwork that reflects the unique spirit of the neighborhood.
