Paul LaJeunesse’s latest public mural, Confluence, will be unveiled on November 7th as part of the NorthShore Merchants Collective ongoing effort to celebrate Chattanooga’s vibrant community. The mural, located at the intersection of Forrest and Frazier Avenues, captures the diverse experiences of the North Shore, layering iconic landmarks like the Walnut Street Bridge and Coolidge Park Fountain.

LaJeunesse’s design draws inspiration from the interconnectedness of the community, blending imagery of the Tennessee River, local architecture, and the area’s natural beauty. The artist’s goal was to create a piece that reflects the spirit of connection and movement that defines the North Shore, encouraging viewers to explore and appreciate their surroundings.

“As a community, the North Shore is defined by its connections – to history, to nature, and to each other,” said LaJeunesse. “My aim was to capture this sense of place and shared experience in a single, cohesive work.”

The unveiling event, hosted by the NorthShore Merchants Collective, will offer the public a chance to see the mural up close and hear from the artist. This celebration of community and creativity underscores the vital role public art plays in fostering a sense of place and belonging.
