Duluth’s Lincoln Park neighborhood recently unveiled a vibrant new art walk, showcasing community murals that celebrate the area’s rich history and creative spirit. The project, highlighted by the Duluth News Tribune, includes work by local artists like Paul LaJeunesse, who contributed to this growing collection of public art.
The art walk features murals inspired by the neighborhood’s industrial past and handmade traditions, reflecting the character and resilience of the community. LaJeunesse, a professor at the College of St. Scholastica, is known for his immersive, place-based art, which draws on his extensive experience in public murals and community collaboration.
“This project is about more than just beautifying public spaces – it’s about fostering a sense of identity and pride for the community,” LaJeunesse said. “Public art can transform neighborhoods, creating places where people want to gather and connect.”
The Lincoln Park Art Walk serves as a creative hub, drawing residents and visitors alike to explore and appreciate the diverse artistic voices that shape the area. With plans for future murals and community art projects, this initiative is helping turn Lincoln Park into one of Duluth’s most dynamic cultural destinations.
